As a development manager e-commerce at IT, you will be responsible for the e-commerce development teams with 25+ fantastic developers, both employees and consultants, divided in small agile teams. Your main objective is to facilitate, create & maintain high performing teams that can deliver world-class IT-solutions.

Ellos group is operating numerous high-volume e-commerce sites on 8 different markets. The e-stores are at the core of the business and have extremely high requirements on availability, stability, speed, user experience and agility. The department is responsible for developing and maintaining all components of the e-commerce platform and is instrumental in executing business projects & initiatives to advance the company’s capabilities within the e-commerce space.

 

 Key responsibilities

  • Employer branding – making sure everyone knows about all the cool stuff we do
  • Encouraging continuous learning
  • Planning resources together with product owners
  • Recruiting the most competent, fun, and positive employees and consultants 
  • Managing staff & consultant budget
  • Feedbacking your team using performance- and development reviews, follow-ups, and a bit of fika.
  • Ensuring an efficient and well working collaboration between the department and other stakeholders.

 

Your background

 You have a long background in IT, leading people, managing, and developing high performing software teams. You are a “people person” with excellent communication skills and you thrive in an agile environment with high pace and fast changing requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant working experience within leadership and tech
  • 3+ years’ experience leading people, preferably as a line manager or consultant manager within software development
  • Proven leader that is genuinely interested in people and knows what makes a team work well together. 
  • Prior experience from one or more roles within software development and an understanding for the challenges that developers are faced with. 
  • Experience from e-commerce and/or retail is a big plus
  • Fluent in Swedish and English

To succeed in this role, you must have a genuine interest in leadership, and a strong will to engage in the development of both people and business. You also have the ability and interest in networking to create long-term professional relationships, and you are structured but pragmatic in your approach.
